I am looking for a recipe which uses angel food cake torn up into pieces, over which you pour a mixture of strawberry Jello and frozen strawberries. After letting it set, it is "frosted" with Cool Whip. This is also wonderful made with raspberries and raspberry Jello. I just don't have the quantities of the ingredients. Help, please!

Hi, Marykay! Of course I've got the answer! You want "Pink Party Dessert!" But before Chef Andy provides the recipe, a brief political digression. why has he removed Marykay's email address in her mail above? In fact, you'll notice that no contributor to the page has her email address listed.

Well, that's because eeeevvviiil "spambots" prowl the web, reading every web page they can find, and slurping down anything that looks like an email address! Ever gotten junk email for some get-rich-quick scheme, a multi-level-marketting ripoff, or "Joe's discount two-dixie-cups-and-a-string" long distance company? It was probably somebody using a program like "web weasel" which grabbed your address without your permission! Visit the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email's homepage for information on how you can help end spam. End of political digression. And now Chef Andy is pleased to present...

Pink Party Dessert
No one will ever suspect you're using left-over angel cake for a party!

1 package (3 oz.) Jell-O Strawberry Gelatin
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup boiling water
Angel food cake (*)

(*) Use leftover cake (about half of a 9- or 10- inch tube
cake) or a commercial angel cake.

Drain thawed berries, reserving 3/4 cup syrup. Dissolve
Jell-O gelatin and sugar in boiling water. Add syrup. Chill
until very thick. Meanwhile, cut the cake into 1-inch cubes.
Arrange half of the cake pieces in a 12 x 7-1/2 x 2 or 13x9x2 inch pan.
Fold drained berries into gelatin. Pour about half of the
mixture over cake. Top with remaining cake and gelatin mixture.
